Standard Operating Procedures for early access cohort beekeepers integrating STIM.buzz into seasonal hive management.

The Micro-Dose Priming Philosophy
STIM.buzz is formulated as a biological primer, not a chemical drench. The goal is to stimulate endogenous Heat Shock Protein expression and support CYP9Q enzyme upregulation at trace physiological titers. Always follow exact dilution ratios: more is not better.

1. Primary Delivery Modalities

Modality A: In-Hive Sugar Syrup Integration (Recommended)

Best for early spring stimulation and late summer thermal defense build-up.

  • Syrup Ratio: 1:1 (w/w) sucrose syrup in spring; 2:1 heavy syrup in autumn.
  • Concentration: 5 mL STIM.buzz concentrate per 1 Gallon (3.78 L) of prepared syrup.
  • Feeding Schedule: Offer 0.5 to 1.0 gallon per 10-frame deep once every 14 days during active stress windows.

Modality B: Direct Comb & Brood Mist

Best during routine hive inspections for direct nurse bee ingestion and brood grooming.

  • Spray Mix: 2 mL STIM.buzz concentrate per 500 mL light syrup or clean spring water.
  • Application: Light mist across top bars and empty comb cells. Do not drench uncapped open brood directly.

Modality C: Winter Pollen / Protein Patty Fortification

Best for autumn preparation before winter cluster formation.

  • Incorporation: 10 mL STIM.buzz concentrate blended into 5 lbs (2.26 kg) of wet protein patty dough during mixing.
  • Placement: Position directly over the active brood cluster.

2. Seasonal Implementation Protocol

SPRING (FEB-APR)

Phenological Priming

Administer 2 syrup cycles before local bloom to bridge early emergence gaps and stimulate healthy brood gland development.

SUMMER (JUN-AUG)

Thermal Armor Defense

Provide regular micro-dose feeding prior to forecasted 95°F+ heatwaves to protect foraging muscle proteostasis.

AUTUMN (SEP-OCT)

Winter Bee Generation

Fortify fat-body development and thoracic chaperone reserves in late-season brood that will form the overwintering cluster.

WINTER (NOV-JAN)

Cluster Stability

Maintain minimal disturbance: evaluate cluster tightness and landing board cleansing behavior on mild flight days.

3. Observational Metrics & Cohort Logging

Participants in the Phase 1 Pilot Cohort log four primary observational indicators in their bi-weekly field registry:

Storage & Handling: Store STIM.buzz concentrate in a cool, dark environment (50°F to 72°F / 10°C to 22°C). Do not freeze. Do not expose to direct sunlight. Once diluted in sugar syrup, use within 7 days.
